The Site of the Palace 1939 – 1995

These comparing Photographs from before World-War II and the Schloss-Site after it’s demolition in 1950 with the new Palace of the Republic, built in 1976 by the German Democratic Republic, convinced countless people of the necessity of rebuilding the Royal Palace of Berlin.
