The Foerderverein Berliner Schloss e.V. was originally founded in 1992 under the name:

“Foerderverein for the Exhibition: The Significance of the Berlin Palace for the center of Berlin – a documentation” It was entered into the Organizational Registry at the district court Berlin-Charlottenburg on February 12, 1992 under number 12716.

The name was changed by a decision of the members at a meeting in February 2003.
