The Förderverein Berliner Schloss e.V. has finally gotten a prestigious information center for the reconstruction of the Berlin Palace in order to inform inhabitants of Berlin and visitors visually about its work.

 at Hausvogteiplatz 3-4

10117 Berlin

right in the vacinity of the Gendarmenmarkt, Taubenstrasse East

The facility, which is about 400 square meters and contains an exhibition room as well as a lecture and movie projection room, is on the ground floor of an older building protected by historic zoning regulations. There we offer you the most important information about the Palace’s reconstruction. The friendly volunteers from our circle of supporters are available there every day, usually between 9:30AM to at least 4:00PM with expert information.

Special tours of the center can be arranged by telephone at 030/2067 3093.

The key elements of our exhibition are:

The thrilling city model of historic Berlin at the turn of the century, now expanded from the Brandenburg Gate to the Palace and from the Museum Island to the Gendarmenmarkt.Over an area of more than 50 square meters the model shows you the entire beauty of old Berlin, perfect and exact in every detail built by the late Horst Dühring. It represents the high point of his life. One look makes it immediately apparent that although the Palace was not everything, without the Palace the rest is nothing.

The plaster models of parts of the window frames of the famous Schlüterhof, one of the key interior courtyards of the Palace. These models are constructed  at the ratio of 1 to 1 preparatory to carrying them out in sandstone. They show you that it is indeed still possible to recreate baroque art today.

An internet terminal allows you to donate a building block or a decorative element for the Palace façade.

The Palace Shop, with its wonderful, elegant gift articles, including all available literature about the Berlin Palace, art books covering the Prussian palaces and gardens, postcards, and many other items, will make it difficult to choose a gift for a special occasion.
